In order to preserve healthy teeth, good oral care is necessary from the very beginning – from the first milk tooth. However, brushing milk teeth is not always easy. Apart from that, infants from an early age, often want to brush their teeth themselves. Due to their lack of motor skills, however, thorough brushing is practically not possible. Parents therefore have little control over how well their children’s teeth are cleaned. Even re-brushing offers only a perceived assurance that your children’s teeth are sufficiently well cleaned.
This is why Kinder Karex Tooth Protection Gel was developed – for the additional protection of children’s teeth. During development, particular attention was also paid to the special needs of all children. Thus, this product benefits all children – whether they have healthy teeth, chalky teeth or wear braces.
The high-dosage BioHAP gel supports caries prophylaxis by forming a protective layer on the tooth. This makes it more difficult for bacteria to adhere to the tooth and thus effectively protects against caries. In addition, Kinder Karex Tooth Protection Gel promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel with high-dosage BioHAP and additional calcium.
Teeth remineralization
Dental plaque and acidic foods remove calcium from the enamel. BioHAP attaches itself to tooth surfaces and penetrates the resulting so-call demineralized areas. This process is supported by the calcium contained in the gel, and is called remineralization. Due to its high correspondence to the natural tooth mineral, BioHAP remineralizes even deeper layers of the tooth enamel than other agents.
Chalky teeth
A characteristic feature of chalky teeth is that the enamel is not fully mineralized. As a result, external irritants penetrate more quickly into the underlying dentin and further to the tooth nerve. The Tooth Protection Gel can also reduce pain sensitivity in chalky teeth (MIH) by mineralizing the teeth with calcium and forming a protective layer through BioHAP.
Orthodontic treatments
Even with orthodontic treatments, brushing alone is often not enough to keep teeth free of caries. So despite good oral hygiene, plaque often develops around the brackets in fixed braces, increasing the risk of caries. Over an extended period of time, plaque can produce acids, if not removed. The acids cause demineralization in the tooth – in as short a time as 4 weeks. Kinder Karex Tooth Protection Gel with BioHAP and calcium, neutralizes harmful bacterial acids, preventing tooth demineralization and “white spot lesions”. The calcium present also supports the remineralization of the affected areas.
Suitable for all children
Due to its similarity to the body’s own tooth mineral, BioHAP as a calcium phosphate compound, is absolutely harmless if swallowed and therefore suitable from the time baby’s first tooth appears. The mild taste is pleasant, making it easy even for infants to incorporate the Tooth Protection Gel into their daily oral care routine, directly after brushing their teeth.

KINDER KAREX Tooth Protection Gel ingredients and their function
INCI* | English name | Function |
---|---|---|
Hydroxyapatite | Hydroxyapatite |
Hydroxyapatite: - Remineralisation / repairs weakened enamel and dentine - Occludes exposed tubules on the tooth neck, thus preventing sensitive teeth - Biomimetic biofilm control: prevents the bacterial adherence on the tooth, thus preventing caries and gingivitis - Forms a protective layer on the surface of the tooth and thereby offers additional protection against caries - Protection against acid attacks, e.g. from fruit juices ("erosion protection") - Toothlike/biomimetic: Safe if swallowed - additional Calcium source - Clinically proven plaque and caries protection |
Calcium Lactate | Calcium lactate | Soluble calcium, bound to lactate. Calcium promotes remineralisation and supports the natural tooth repair process via saliva |
Calcium Carbonate | Calcium carbonate | Calcium compound that is also contained in saliva. Calcium carbonate can be deposited in the biofilm (e.g. in the interdental spaces that are hard for toothbrushes to reach) and helps to protect the teeth from acids |
Xylitol | Xylitol | Antibacterial and therefore anticariogenic, also stimulates the flow of saliva |
Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol | Glycerin, hexane-1,2-diol, octane-1,2-diol | Mild moisturising ingredients. They also give the gel its consistency (glycerin is also the main component of many natural vegetable oils) |
Aqua | Water | Excipient |
Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Hydroxyacetophenone, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose | Starch, hydroxyacetophenone, short-chain (liquid) polyethylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, cellulose derivative (similar to cellulose from plants) | These ingredients give the gel its consistency, moisture and solidity |
Aroma, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Powder, Limonene, Citral | Flavourings, stevia, lime aroma, citral | Mild citrus mint flavour |
Tooth Protection Gel is suitable for children from the time they get their first milk tooth. It is applied daily to the teeth after brushing – using a soft toothbrush or a finger (only apply, do not brush) and spread with the tongue. The application can be simplified by applying smaller amounts of Kinder Karex Tooth Protection Gel several times on a soft toothbrush/ a finger and spreading it in the mouth. Dosage is as personally required.
Please note: The gel does not replace daily tooth brushing, but is to be used in addition.

Expert tip
The longer Kinder Karex Protection Gel is applied, the more effectively the enamel can be remineralised. It is therefore recommended to apply the gel in the evening after brushing your teeth and to leave it on overnight. This allows the effect to unfold optimally. The active ingredient BioHAP is also harmless if swallowed
